Schedule of Classes for 2010 The following class schedule shows the dates and costs for Puritan Bennett's BMET Education Seminars. All seminars are held at our Technical Education Center in Carlsbad, California (near San Diego).
Pricing reflects tuition costs; lunch, snacks and daily transportation from The Carlsbad Inn to our training facility and back are included in this price. Seminar participants will be responsible for all other expenses. The number of students per seminar is limited. The schedule is subject to change.

General: The 540 Series Ventilator Service Seminar is available for the technician who will provide service support for the 540 Ventilator. The seminar focuses on theory of operation for pneumatics, electronics, and service requirements for the 540 Ventilator. In addition, 60% of student class-time is dedicated to comprehensive hands-on workshops. Program workshops and nightly “take-home” tests are designed to reinforce concepts covered during lecture and require the student to demonstrate technical proficiency in testing and servicing the 540 Ventilator.Pre-study: A pre-study package will be sent to all registered students prior to attending class. This material is designed to familiarize the individual with basic pulmonary physiology and should be studied before attending the seminar. Included with the pre-study is the CD-ROM Tutorial for the BreathLab PTS 2000 ventilator testing system. This CD-ROM should also be reviewed prior to attending the 540 Vent Seminar. Study of these materials is required prior to attending the seminar.The Seminar: The student will receive the 540 Service and Clinician’s manuals. The seminar focuses on theory of operation for pneumatics, electronics, and service requirements for the 840 ventilator. In addition, over 50% of student class-time is dedicated to comprehensive hands-on workshops. Program workshops and nightly "take-home" tests are designed to reinforce concepts covered during lecture and require the student to demonstrate technical proficiency in testing and servicing the 840 ventilator. Pre-study: A pre-study package will be sent to all registered students prior to attending class. This material is designed to familiarize students with basic pulmonary physiology and should be studied before attending the seminar. The pre-study manual MUST be brought to class for discussion and reference. Included with the pre-study, is a CBT CD-ROM, 840 Interactive Training CD [PN A-AA2287-00]. This CD MUST also be reviewed prior to attending the 840 Ventilator Seminar. General: The Achieva Series Service Seminar is available to the qualified individual who provides service support for the Achieva series ventilator. Puritan Bennett recommends attending this program before servicing the Achieva series ventilator. The seminar will focus on theory of operation for both pneumatics and electronics and includes comprehensive hands-on workshops.Pre-study: A pre-study package will be sent to all registered students prior to attending class. This material is designed to familiarize the individual with basic pulmonary physiology as well as the BreathLab® PTS ventilator testing system. Study of these materials is MANDATORY prior to attending the seminar.The Seminar: The student will receive the latest version of the service manual, the technical manual and the clinician's manual. The agenda will include, but is not limited to, discussion of the pre-study material, detailed pneumatic theory of operation, and functional electronic theory of operation. Registration is confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the date and time the BMET registration / pre-registration Form is received. If your plans or budgets change, you may cancel your reservation up to 30 working days prior to the program start without incurring a fee or cancellation charge. Our policy of limited enrollment makes it necessary to charge one-half the program fee for cancellations received within the final 30 working days prior to the program start date, or for failure to attend without canceling.
